About Not Now Coloring

Not Now Coloring is the home of the Not Now Coloring Books, a series of paperback coloring and activity books written under the pen name J. Glenn and published by L7 Publishing, a small independent publisher based in Connecticut.

The idea came from a familiar scene. A parent sits down for something they love, a weekly mahjong game, a youth hockey tournament, and a kid who came along asks for attention at exactly the wrong moment. "Not now" is the honest answer. These books try to make "not now" a good moment instead of a frustrating one, by giving the kid a story about their own afternoon: the snack bar, the blanket fort, the octopus goalie, the dragon who wants more tea.

What goes into each book

• Detailed, cheerful scenes printed on one side of each page, so markers do not ruin the next picture.
• A hidden character to find on every page, with an answer key in the back.
• Activity pages such as mazes, word searches and spot the difference.
• Big 8.5 x 11 inch pages, printed and shipped by Amazon.

How the books are made

The words and line art are created with the help of AI tools, then edited, checked and cleaned page by page for print, and each title carries Amazon's AI-content disclosure. Every book is proof-printed before it is published.
